Fill in the Blank Friday

I haven't done this in a few months, but I love this week's fill in the blank friday, so I'm joining in!
Head over to Lauren's blog to participate :)

1.   My favorite quote is       "Let the Beauty of what you Love be what you Do"   .

2.  A bad habit I have is    biting my nails.  I've actually become better at night biting them, but whenever I'm stressed I find myself doing that.  Gross, I know  .

3.  The first time I felt like a "grown up" was       two different occasions.  The first was last April when I went to Paris without my family.  Even though I was with my school, I still felt very independent.  The second was when I got my college acceptance letter last month.  It was the first time I realized that soon I will be leaving home.  And while I entirely don't feel like a grownup, these events have made me feel like I'm growing up    .

4.  Weekends are   all about relaxing and doing what I love.  I like to fill my weekends with good movies, friends, family, yoga, and baking.  Everything I don't have time for during the week   .

5.  When I was a child I wished my name was    Summer.  I used to make all my friends call me Summer, no joke.  They make fun of me for it to this day.

6.  I wish          people weren't so quick to judge people all the time.  i also wish people weren't so fearful about what everyone thinks of them.  we have one life to life, so why not live it without judgement and without regret  .

7.  A secret I have is       i sometimes wonder why I swim.   As much as I love it, every time we have a terribly hard workout that makes me want to cry and leaves me feeling dead on my bed all night {which has been every night in the past month}, I wonder why I signed on for four more years of this.  And then I think of all the friends I've made through swimming, and how I love the thrill of a race.  And about how I'd be 300 pounds overweight if I stopped swimming.

I was never suppose to have school today because I had no midterms, but they closed school anyway because it snowed here last night.  Which means now I don't have to go in on Monday either.

Yay for 4 day weekends! xo

what?  only two people have entered.  psh you all need too enter the AWESOME giveaway! :)

fill in the Blank Friday: Thanksgiving edition

i'm currently at home stuck in bed with a bad cold.
it sucks, especially since the boy and best friend come home this weekend, but i've been spending the day reading blogs and catching up on tv.  it's nice.  sleeping until 11 am didn't hurt either.  here's fill in the blank friday!
thanks lauren!

1.   My Thanksgiving plans this year will include       eating large amounts of food, going for a morning run, and watching the parade on TV .

2.  My favorite Thanksgiving was   the ones at my grandparents house where we'd all eat dinner, then spend hours decorating their christmas tree with christmas music playing.  it was so festive.  .

3.  My signature Thanksgiving dish is       a pumpkin tart.  it's so yummy!  .

4.  My favorite Thanksgiving food is   spinach dip, pumpkin pie, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce.   .

5.  Thanksgiving free association!      handmade garland, hours spent in front of the tv watching parade, phone calls with my grandmother, pumpkin pie, watching elf on tv following thanksgiving dinner.

6.  Thansgiving is        the start to the most wonderful season of all  .

7.  I am thankful for       a loving and supportive family.  a best friend who i can talk to about anything.  a dog that lights up my life.  a home.  food to eat.  my health.  warm scarves    .

Fill in the Blank Friday: Let's Talk Hair

1.   My last haircut was       in August right before I went to Greece.  I didn't really do anything different.  I'm actually in need of one now.  I want to keep my length, just do something different to make my waves really stand out.  maybe more layers? i'm not sure.

2.  My most daring hair moment was       chopping off all my hair up to my ears when i was 12  .

3.  A hairstyle I'd never be brave enough to try is       bangs.  LOVE them.... but i'm way too scared to try them out on me   .

4.  I've always dreamt of being a (blonde, brunette or red-head)   red head.  totally natural, though.  my aunt has gorgeous read hair i love.

5.  My go-to hair do is       bed head.  seriously, every night after I shower I brush it out, part it off to the side, and go to bed.  i don't brush it in the morning when i wake up.  i just kind of "fluff it" and go!  .

6.  My biggest hair disaster was      was most daring hair moment.  yeah, i don't look too hot with super short hair .

7.  A hairstyle I am dying to try is        braided crown, braided bun, really anything braided  .

8.  My best hair day was       (is) anytime it rains.  it's so weird, but when i walk outside in the rain my hair gets perfectly wavy when it dries.  i can never recreate it at home.  same way with when i get of the ocean.  it's just so perfect.   .

9.  The worst hairstyle I ever had was   my most daring hair moment AND my biggest hair disaster.  see above.

10.  My hair is       crazy and messy and very bi-polar   .

speaking of hair, here are some gorgeous hair related posts that have been done in the blog world lately!  i want to try all of these
perfect party hair
{this is the color red i love}

the no-tie bun

braided crown
{seriously the best blog for hair help.  it's book marked for me for whenever i'm in a bind. brandi, who is a stylist, is the absolute sweetest hairstylist ever and i really wish i lived near her so she could always do my hair!}

messy buns and side braids

love it!  i'm determined to get more creative with my hair and this is the perfect way to jump start the creativity.

this weekend is full of things i love the most

tonight was spent eating greek food and candy apples
tomorrow i'll be volunteering at the special olympics, which i seriously can not wait for!
tomorrow night will be spent baking {i promise to update the other blog tomorrow.  really, promise}
and sunday i'm getting a much needed massage!

xoxo

via lauren
1.   I am       emotional.  carefree.  spontaneous.  happy.  a vegetarian.  a student.  a sister.  a daughter.  a granddaughter.  a friend.  a yoga teacher.  but most of all, a dreamer  .

2.  I wish   we all could learn to love each other.   .

3.  I like       milkshakes.  indie music.  indie movies.  quotes.  cameras.  glee.  medical dramas.  photographs.  swimming.  the beach.  yoga.  helping others.  smiling.   .

4.  I can    not wait until thanksgiving!  and christmas. .

5.  I hope      the next year is the best yet.  for all of you .

6.  I think        the world would be better if everyone felt special   .

7.  I was      once told everything happens for a reason.  what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.  i totally believe that    .

xoxo night!

Fill in the Blank Friday!

1.  If I didn't have to work anymore I would    {and if i had unlimited money}   travel the world.  i'd see as many amazing places as I could and take pictures of them along the way.  i'd go to culinary school.  i'd build a pretty house on the beach.  oh how i wish.....

2.  My favorite thing about a vacation is     meeting new people and learning about new cultures.  .

3.  When packing for a trip I       pack at the last minute, and throw in anything i think i might want to wear.  of course, i never end up wearing half of it and i always have to sit on my suitcase when i pack for the way home    .

4.  If I could go on a road trip with anyone (dead OR alive) I would choose      my best friend nora because,      i can talk to her for hours on end and we never get bored   and we would go       across the united states. especially to new orleans.  because i really want to  .

5.  My top 3 absolute travel essentials are     1) magazines 2) travel socks 3) snacks! .

6.  Vacations are       amazing no matter how much money you spend  .

7.  On vacation you must always      do something kind of scary.  in costa rica i went ziplining.  in canada i went white water rafting.  in hawaii scuba diving.  in greece banana boating.  in turkey, well i just got lost.  that's scary enough    .

fill in the Blank Friday!

it's friday!
although really, since it's summer, everyday feels like the weekend.
except i have to work every weekend.
kinda a bummer.... but at least i'll be getting tan!
here's fill in the blank friday!
thanks lauren :)

1.  The best thing about being in school was/is       being with your friends every single day. and being able to take random days off when you just need a break from life.

2.  The worst thing about being in school was/is      tests!  i don't mind homework that much, but i hate hate hate studying!

3.  My favorite subject in school was/is       english and art class.  what can i say, i got the more creative gene in the family.  my sister's a bigger science/ math person.  although i am really excited for my bio class next year .

4.  One subject I wish I could have mastered/would like to master is       spanish.  i want to one day be fluent in the language.  it's such a prominent language in the world and i think it's beautiful .

5.  I could never get tired of studying     world war two in history.  i took european history this past year just for this time period.  i've always loved it and am completely fascinated by the chain of events that happened prior to the war   .

6.  The most memorable teacher I had was      Mrs. Abrams.  I had her for 10th grade AP United STates history and she was by far the best teacher I have ever had.  she had a love of teaching that couldn't be matched and made each lesson excited.  she treated us like equals, allowing us to debate anything we wanted.  best of all, she was so open and easy to talk to.  i didn't do well on a test once due to finding out my boyfriend at the time had cheated on me, and she sat me down and told me i was so much better then him.

7.  If I could choose between going to school for the rest of my life or working for the rest of my life, I'd choose      i'm not working yet (minus my summer job) but i'd probably say work.  i can't stand the tests and homework, and I can't wait to get to do what i love full time {whatever that turns out to be!}     .

Fill in the Blank Friday!

yay it's friday!
that means it's fill in the blank friday!

1.  One fashion trend I really regret is     fur.  i use to have this fur scarf and also a fur jacket when i was 10.  i could never wear fur now.   .

2.  The one thing that always completes any outfit is     confidence and a smile.  i know that's really cliche, but i believe you can always look gorgeous wearing sweats and a tshirt if you have confidence and are smiling .

3.  I would describe my personal style as       bohemian and vintage and beachy and classic?  i don't really know, but i shop at jcrew, urban, anthro, and vintage stores a lot .

4.  My fashion muse is       Zooey Deschanel.  Hands down.    .

5.  If I could own one designer piece of clothing it would be    Hmmmm.... Christian L high heeled pumps.  a gorgeous Miu Miu bag.  all i know is it would be shoes or a purse!   .

6.  I would love to raid the wardrobe of      Zooey Deschanel.  I've never not loved one of her outfits.  I also love Rachel Bilson's style.  and of course ms. Nicole Richie .

7.  Today I am wearing      sweats and a tshirt since it's almost time for bed.  but during the day i wore dark colored jeans, and red and white flowy shirt from anthro, and a white cardigan from jcrew    .

Fill in the Blank Friday!

FRIDAY!  FRIDAY!  FRIDAY!

i am so happy.
it's been a long week.  and even though i have two review sessions tomorrow, i'm excited for the weekend because i get to go eat fondue tomorrow!  yay :)

since it's friday, let's play a round of fill in the blank friday!
[i've missed playing this every week!]

1.  One song that always takes me back to my youth is    "Rock Your Body" by Justin Timberlake.  Hey, i'm a 90s baby.  I grew up with Britney, Christina, Justin, N'SYNC, AND the Backstreet Boys.   And I'm not afraid to admit I saw both Britney and the Spice Girls on their comeback tours last year.  Comebacks only happen ONCE.  gotta relive the childhood, people!

2.  My first concert ever was     Michelle Branch and Sheryl Crow.  I was ten and went with my entire family.  I was so excited and I remember it was SO good.

3.  If I could create my dream music festival I'd want these bands to be there:      Madonna, Kate Nash, She and Him, Passion Pit, Ingrid Michaelson, Weezer, The Kooks, Cage the Elephant, and Eric Hutchinson.

4.  The best make-out/"boot knocking" song ever is    I've never been one to like music when kissing.  BUT I've always imagined that perfect kiss happening with "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer.  If my life was a movie, of course  .

5.  The best concert I've ever been to was     I've been to some really awesome concerts.  I loved Gwen Stefani when i was 14.  John Mayer was awesome when I turned 15.  And last year I had so much fun at both The Fray/ Jack's Mannequin Concerts and the No Doubt/ Paramore concerts.  I can't pick a favorite!    .

6.  A memorable musical moment for me was        at the Paramore/ No Doubt concert last summer.  My friend and I got lawn seats at our local concert venue because we thought it would feel more "summery" . There were some rain showers in the forecast, but nothing major so we just got dropped off.  Before we knew it, heavy clouds were coming in.  It started lightening, thundering, pouring rain, AND hailing.  They wouldn't let us into the the venue, and with no ride home we were stuck with 100 other people in the middle of a field in the storm.  Not the safest place.  Luckily, they soon let us into the venue.  We were soaked, cold, and exhausted, but we stayed for the concert and it was totally worth it.  Apparently it was Jersey's biggest rain/thunder storm in a few years and a ton of homes were damaged/ left without power.  Oops!  I'm going to the Jack Johnson concert in July at the same place.  And yes, we didn't get lawn seats   .

7.  The song on my iPod that's getting the most play these days is      She and Him "Over it, Over Again".  and Glee's "Like a Prayer".  Great for dance parties!!    .

play along at Lauren's blog!
and if you do, leave a link here in the comments section so i can read!

tonight's the last chance to enter the giveaway!!!

i'll pick a winner tomorrow :)
