Whistler, British Columbia

in 2008, my family took a trip to British Columbia and stayed in Whistler.
It was mid-august, and I have to say it was one of the most gorgeous places in the world.

we spent 10 days mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, and eating.
i had no cell service.  barely any internet.
and i felt so at peace with the world.

one of the highlights of the trip was our white-water rafting experience.
there is nothing like it.

as a total beach girl who rarely vacations in the mountains, i can say this:
i would totally go back.
which is surprising for me to say, because i was dreading going on this trip.
i like surfing, scuba diving, and swimming.
and while my body ached from all the biking, and my normally strong swimmer shoulders were unbearably sore from all the kayaking,
it was such an amazing place to breathe fresh air and just be alive.
running up the mountains in the morning and being able to breathe freely without pollution was so enjoyable.

  1. I love Whistler! I used to frequent there as a teenager, some of the best skiing/hiking in the country!
